Rosegold UNIVERSAL "Polerouter"
Rosegold UNIVERSAL "Polerouter"
The Universal Geneve Polerouter was designed in 1954 by the 23-year-old designer Gerald Genta. He later also designed for Patek Philippe (Nautilus), Audemars Piguet (Royal Oak) as well as Rolex and Omega.
What makes this beautiful piece very special is the dial. It has an outer stepped capital ring, recessed hour indices and original Dauphine hands.
The polar router was introduced in 1954 to coincide with the first commercial flights from Europe to the USA over the North Pole.
The Polerouter "De Luxe" was made in 18 kt. pink gold with a matching solid gold most tropically insane leopard brown dial.
