Rare & early ROLEX Datejust in 14 kt. gold, ref. 6605 from 1957

The early Rolex Datejust references continue to hold a special place amongst vintage Rolex collectors. They represent the formative years of one of Rolex’s most enduring models and combine elegant proportions with details that gradually disappeared as production evolved. This Reference 6605 from 1957, also known as the ‘Ovettone’, brings together many of the features that seasoned collectors appreciate.

The watch features a beautiful cream-coloured dial with attractive heart-shaped original radium hour markers, matching radium hands, and, to top it all off, the early red and black date disc. The dial has an attractive, period-appropriate patina.

Only a very small number of ref. 6605 models were made in 14 kt gold for export to the USA.
