Universal Geneve was founded in 1894 in Le Locle and was originally known as "Universal Watch". In the early 1900s, the factory was moved to Geneva and after a few years the name was changed to Universal Geneve. In the early years of its operation, UG specialized in the production of refined pocket watches. The production of wristwatches, especially chronographs, began in the early 1930s. Today, Universal's vintage models are highly sought after by collectors, as they are watches with an exceptional esthetic design and high-quality calibers. Universal's most famous models include Compur, Aereocompax, Tricompax, Spacecompax, Datocompax. Our watch is a reference 12482 and is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after models of the Compur series.
