Alexander Timtschenko
Alexander Timtschenko
Alexander Timtschenko's photographs reinterpret familiar worlds deeply rooted in our collective memory, shaping our perception of reality. He transforms modern metropolises into dazzling color architectures, while palace and museum scenes become vibrant time-travel experiences. His images of replica European landmarks, such as those in Las Vegas, align perfectly with our idealized and stereotypical visions, appearing strikingly real.
In his current exhibition at Galerie REYGERS, Timtschenko explores the interiors of King Ludwig II’s castles. His compositions, long exposure techniques, and intense color saturation reflect the Bavarian king’s love for opulence. At the same time, ghostly figures of visitors, glass and light reflections, and the recurring image of the artist’s camera ground the works in the present.
