Case
36 mm stainless steel srewed back case and a soft iron completely encloses the movement as a shield to protect the mechanism against magnetic interference. When the winding button is pulled out for setting the hour and minute hands, the balance is brought to rest. This Mark XI is engraved with RAF-reference number 6B/346 and the broad arrow.

Year: 1952

Description: Production of the Mark XI, one of the most legendary pilot's watches, was launched in 1948. The model was always fitted with the IWC calibre 89 movement. It was issued to the British Ministry of Defence and used by the RAF as well as Commonwealth forces, including South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
